Their art is their body, their stance and their faces...

Critique, even critisize, but if you don't like what you see, look elsewhere.  You do not have the right NOT to be offended... that's called freedom.

It's a body, one billion years of evolution and God's finest handiwork.  The ultimate single form of truest beauty, regardless of age, weight, gender, shape, injury or race...  There's nothing ugly about any part of it.

Posted by ~Alexb244 :iconalexandrab24:  Alex is one of the divas of DA's models, graceful, powerful and beautiful... Her age has come up breifly as a subject mentioned, but you never really notice that when you see her modelling work, at least, not in that "for someone her..." B.S. sort of way.  Instead, her years and life have formed her modelling into something better, more complete.  She has that essential aura of "woman" around her, coming from her in her work.  This slender, strong creature that bears herself in poise and character in her work.  If you haven't seen her modelling page, for God's sake, go look now!

you're so right, :blackrose: she's adorable! thank you that i've just found her this way!

(and i hope i will not find something 'offending' about her, what i expect after your posting. probably my inner hulk will awake or my feminism in alliance with my aestheticism and the bloody power of an artistic eye and i'm not sure what's worst of them!)

I think you hit the nail on the head with "You do not have the right NOT to be offended" but I think it's going to be an eternal conflict.

I can't tell you just how much I agree with this. This is a problem I always have, being hassled for being fat. I love what you said SO much!

Thank you for the feedback!

I don't understand why anyone would use that word to describe you... voluptuous, lush, round of hip and fullsome-breasted, but "fat"? :? I weigh 270 lbs, I know from overweight and yours is the feminine form which has dominated the art world for millenia as the archetype of beauty... Why do you think i went so fave-happy when I found your page? :)

I suppose it does prove what i meant to talk about, though. How one person decides for themself what THEIR ideal is and insists that everybody else on the planet adopt that standard... When it's the same concept in politics and religion, people die... when it's an aesthetic ideal, we simply rip each other's spirits and egos apart...

Rest assured, you are a beautiful woman. Always remember that. And thank you so much for your words! :D

Thank you so much for your supporting words and thoughts. It is true what you say- people somehow decided females were more attractive minus the very curves that make them feminine! I mean if that's what they like, fine- but everyone is different and no amount of harassment will ever change that

I like the rorshach idea - Yeah basically peoples opinions and judgements teach you more about the person making them, than the subject of their commentary. One of the reasons I initally did the "Be Pornography' set was because an ex-partner was full of harsh opinions and judgements about body-image, objectification(Especially of women by men)etc. I decided the best way to know whether showing yourself naked or as a sexual being, was empowering or demeaning, was to do it, to 'be pornography', by showing myself nude in public (the original photos, not the artwork). Of course I am a man so it might well be different, although there is a male ideal in the media too. Ultimately I think that in spite of the general societal view about 'showing yourself naked', the answer is it is empowering.
Good on you for supporting these issues and the models!
