Astronaut Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon (yes, yes he did...)  passed away at the age of 82 today.  R.I.P., Neil.

One of the handful of humans whom jaded Aussies could not blare "BTDT" over the bar to...

One of my earliest memories, at the age of one year, was seeing Armstrong landing on the moon.  My mom had moved the tv into the kitchen so she could watch while doing dishes and the laundry.  I was still rolling around in one of those coaster things with the seat and the tray and I was watching the whole thing.  (Should anyone wonder how I could remember such a thing allow me to note that I was talking before a year old and began reading with comprehension at 13 months)  As a child, I was raised in the idea of the Space Age, and am now still wondering what happened.  Logically I understand about budgets and no longer trying to beat the Russkies and all, but even so...

When Neil stepped on the moon, I was expecting that some day I and others might too...
